Since 2014, he has been entrusted to lead the Parisian "Pitié-Salpêtrière-Sorbonne University" center of liver transplantation, that resulted from the merge of three centers, and is a leader of translational research in the INSERM-Sorbonne-ICAN team entitled “Metabolic and biliary fibro- inflammatory diseases of the liver”. He holds his PhD degree in oncology, studying hepatocellular carcinoma and the bone marrow (BM) as a tumor cell reservoir. He has conducted many clinical trials (phase II & III) as PI. He is national coordinator in the field of transplantation and liver surgery and member of the scientific council of the French Biomedecine Agency. He is internationally recognized as a pioneer of laparoscopic approach in liver surgery and living donation. His team has been more recently involved in ex vivo machine perfusion development, especially dedicate to the defatting process of discarded steatosis livers. This translational project has been funded by several research calls including ANR, AMICAP with AGEPS, and ABM agency. This projet also includes a strong partnership with industry
